Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to NextClip. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered video editing services, including our integrations with third-party platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

By using NextClip, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, upload videos, connect social media accounts, or contact our support team. This may include:

  • Your name and email address
  • Payment information (processed securely via third-party processors)
  • Video content you upload for editing or clipping
  • Your editing preferences, caption styles, and branding settings
  • Device and browser information
  • IP address and approximate location data

2a. Social Media Account Data

When you connect a social media account (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, or Facebook Page) to NextClip for the purpose of scheduling, publishing, and measuring the performance of video content, we collect and store only the data necessary to provide that functionality, including:

  • YouTube: We request access to view your YouTube account information (channel name, channel ID) and to upload and manage videos on your behalf via the YouTube Data API v3. We use the youtube.readonly scope to display your channel details and the youtube.upload scope to publish scheduled clips directly to your channel. We do not access, store, or share your YouTube watch history, subscriptions, comments, or any data beyond what is needed to upload and manage the videos you explicitly schedule through NextClip.
  • TikTok:We use TikTok's Login Kit and Content Posting API to connect your account. Specifically:
    • user.info.basic — your TikTok open ID, avatar URL, and display name, used to identify your account and show it in your NextClip dashboard
    • video.publish — used at the moment you schedule a post, to publish a finished clip directly to your TikTok profile
    • video.upload — used when you choose to send a clip to TikTok as a private draft for further editing inside the TikTok app rather than publishing it directly
    • video.list — used to retrieve the IDs and public performance metrics (views, likes, comments, shares) of videos that NextClip has published to your account, so we can display analytics in your NextClip dashboard. We only read data for videos published through NextClip; we do not browse or store data about your other TikTok content.
  • Instagram and Facebook Page: We use the Instagram Graph API and Facebook Graph API, which require your Instagram account to be a Professional (Business or Creator) account connected to a Facebook Page. Specifically:
    • instagram_basic— your Instagram professional account's username, account ID, and profile picture, used to display your connected account in the NextClip dashboard
    • instagram_content_publish — used to publish finished clips directly to your Instagram account at the time you schedule within NextClip
    • instagram_manage_insights — used to retrieve performance metrics (reach, views, engagement) for content NextClip has published to your Instagram account, displayed in your NextClip dashboard
    • pages_show_list — used to show you the list of Facebook Pages you manage so you can choose which one to connect
    • pages_read_engagement — used to retrieve engagement metrics (likes, comments, shares) for content NextClip has published to your connected Facebook Page
    • pages_manage_posts — used to publish finished clips directly to your connected Facebook Page at the time you schedule within NextClip
  • LinkedIn: We request only the minimum permissions required to publish video content to your connected account on your scheduled date and time. We do not access your connections, messages, or personal feed data beyond authentication tokens needed for posting.

OAuth tokens granted for social media integrations are stored securely and encrypted at rest. You may revoke access at any time from within NextClip or directly from the respective platform's app permissions settings.
